Synthetic leather carrier with fold

Synthetic-leather-wrapped plastic carriers from KHL Interior GmbH combine innovative design surfaces with durable functionality and precise industrial processing. The selected synthetic leather surface material is permanently bonded to the dimensionally stable plastic carrier using modern, low-emission wrapping processes. The subsequent high-precision edge fold guides the material cleanly around the component edges. This ensures a flawless edge appearance, fully concealed material terminations, and a particularly premium feel.

Focus parts and requirements

At our plant in Wuppertal, this technology is applied primarily to visible and haptic-critical vehicle interior components:

• Focus parts: Armrests, door panels, door mirrors, center consoles, and glovebox lids
• Requirements: High surface quality, absolute fit accuracy, long-term durability, and premium design

Through precise control of pressure, temperature, and adhesive application, KHL Interior meets strict OEM specifications for climate resistance and emission values (VOC/FOG) for the automotive market.
